Admission to the MBBS Program for Bangladeshi Students

Admission to the program is highly competitive. Bangladeshi students will have to sit in a nation-wide written test. The admission criteria and the test are set and conducted by the Bangladesh Ministry of Health & Family Welfare and Bangladesh Medical and Dental Council (BMDC). Applications for the yearly will be invited by the Director Medical Education, Government of Bangladesh. The admission test is organized and conducted by the Director Medical Education for Government and Private Medical Colleges.

  • Eligibility to Sit in the Test

Candidates who passed SSC or equivalent examination in science group and HSC or equivalent examination in science group with Physics, Chemistry and Biology from any recognized board or University of Bangladesh and obtaining total GPA 9.0 with minimum GPA 4.0 either SSC or HSC and Biology with minimum GPA 4.0 in HSC are eligible to apply. Those who have passed ‘O’ and ‘A’ level or equivalent examinations having equivalent marks also eligible to apply with an equivalent certificate from Director of Medical Education, Mohakhali, Dhaka.

  • Application Procedure

Applications are to be submitted to the Medical College as per circular of the Director Medical Education. A candidate who obtains minimum 40 out of 100 in the Test is eligible to apply in privet medical college and get admission according to merit list.

  • Admission into the course

List of finally selected candidates is to be submitted to the Director Medical Education and is to be approved by the governing body of the medical college. The finally selected candidates shall have to get admission by the announced date and time. Otherwise their selection may be cancelled and the vacant place will be filled up by the candidates in the waiting list.

  • Bond / Undertaking

The candidates and their parents or guardians are required to sign bonds on non-judicial stamp regarding the terms and conditions of study, conduct and discipline during admission into the college. Formation of committee or association or union is not allowed. All types of demonstrations, processions and shouting in the college, hostel & hospital premises are prohibited and students involved in these types of activities are liable to be expelled from the college.

Admission Fees for Academic Year 2023-2024
Development Fee =  1,744,000/-
Internship (Refunable with Profit) = 180,000/- 
Total Admission Fee = 1,924,000/-


Monthly Tuition Fee =  10,000/-
Yearly session Charge = 50,000/- (Four Time), Have to pay before every prof Exam.
Monthly Hostel Fees = 2,000

Tuition fees and all other fees payable at the time of admission will be notified in the college noticeboard. All payments are to be made in full at the time of admission. Monthly tuition fees, hostel dues and those made payable to the Medical College will be claimed.

  • Documents to be submitted by the candidate
  1. Photocopy of SSC & HSC/Equivalent examination Mark sheets/Academic Transcript.
  2. Photocopy of SSC & HSC/Equivalent examination certificate/testimonial.
  3. Four copies of recent passport size color photographs.
  4. Nationality certificate from appropriate Authority.
  5. A result sheet of admission test.
  6. Photocopy of Admit card (Admission Test)
  7. At the time of admission the original documents are to be submitted and will be retained by the college
  • Stipend/Scholarship

Free studentship is available for 5% meritorious and financially insolvent students. Separate applications are to be submitted for this category. A separate committee formed by the govt. will finally select the appropriate candidates.


Admission to the Program for Foreign Students


  1. Equivalence of Foreign Degree
  1. Must have passed qualifying examinations (HSC/’A’ level) or equivalent examination
  2. SSC/’0′ level or equivalent examination passed.
  3. HSC/’A’ level or equivalent examination passed.
  4. As per govt rule and equivalency certificate of marks form Director Medical Education DGHS.
  1. Application Form

Two (2) copies of duly filled application forms along with the following documents should be sent to the ministry of Foreign Affairs, Dhaka

  • Copy of Passport.
  • Six (6) Passport size Photographs.
  • All Certificates duly attested by the competent authority, i. e. the Education Ministry of the respective country and also be authenticated by the respective Bangladesh Missions abroad/Foreign Missions based in Dhaka.

Each application must attach with his/her application a non-refundable Demand Draft or Tele-graphic Transfer (TT) of US$ 60.00 (sixty) payable to: “The Director, Medical Education and HMPD, DGHS, Mohakhali, Dhaka, Bangladesh”

Only the applications processed through Bangladesh Missions abroad or through the Missions in Dhaka of respective countries will be considered for admission. Applications must reach the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Dhaka Within the application deadline, which will be published in the Websites of DGHS, Bangladesh  (  and  Consulate  of  Bangladesh   (

Applications should be submitted in the prescribed form to be available from DGHS Website Attested copies of certificates and mark-sheets etc. have to be submitted along with the application. All certificates and marks-sheets must be attested by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. No application will be accepted without attestation.

To ensure citizenship of foreign students, attested copies of passport must be submitted along with the application. The certificates/mark sheets and other testimonials need to be attested by the respective country’s education board/education ministry.

Candidates interested in seeking admission in medical college, need to mention the name of President Abdul Hamid Medical College in their application.

Successful applicants will have to produce all the original academic certificates and mark-sheets /transcripts during their admission.

  1. Any new Fees imposed by the Govt./VAT (if any) has to be borne by the student.
  2. Student admission will be confirmed after getting your  a) Marks equivalence  (eligibility) certificate  b) Academic paper attestation with G.O. number from MOFA and     c) Deposition money of admission fee in the bank .
  3. For any withdrawal/transfer within 10 days from the date of admission: USD 2,000.00 will be deducted; any withdrawal/transfer after 10 days from the date of admission: USD 6,000.00 will be deducted.
  4. Payment should be made through only remittance to our Bank in favour of President Abdul Hamid Medical College
  5. These fees are Including Admission Fees, Tuition Fees, Hostel Charge and Session fee but excluding, Meal Charge, Prof. Exam Fee, RFST and Education Tour.
