Detailed instructions for preparing and submitting manuscripts to the President Abdul Hamid Medical College Journal. All authors must follow these guidelines to ensure smooth processing of their submissions.

The President Abdul Hamid Medical College Journal (PAHMCJ) publishes original research articles, review articles, case reports, short communications, and letters to the editor on all aspects of basic medical sciences, clinical medicine, public health, and medical education. Manuscripts from all disciplines of medicine and allied health sciences are considered for publication.
The journal serves clinicians, researchers, medical educators, and students in Bangladesh and beyond. Articles should be written in clear, accessible English. Technical jargon should be minimized or explained. The journal aims to bridge the gap between academic research and day-to-day clinical practice.

Full-length reports of original investigations. Must include structured abstract, introduction, methods, results, and discussion.
3,000–5,000 words · Structured abstract
Comprehensive critical reviews of current topics. Should be systematic or narrative with clear methodology where applicable.
3,000–6,000 words · Unstructured abstract
Reports of unique, unusual, or educational clinical cases. Must include informed consent statement and relevant clinical images.
1,000–2,000 words · Unstructured abstract
Brief preliminary findings or methodology notes that warrant rapid publication before a full study is completed.
1,000–1,500 words · No abstract required
Comments, criticisms, or observations on previously published articles. Responses from original authors will be solicited.
500–800 words · No abstract
Invited opinion pieces on topical issues in medicine, medical education, or health policy. Usually commissioned by the Editorial Board.
1,000–2,000 words · By invitation

PAHMCJ follows the Vancouver Style (ICMJE Recommendations) for references. References should be numbered consecutively in the order they first appear in the text. Identify references in text, tables, and legends by Arabic numerals in superscript or in parentheses. Abbreviate journal names according to Index Medicus / PubMed. Journal articles must include the Digital Object Identifier (DOI) when available, formatted as a full URL: https://doi.org/10.xxxx/xxxxx

| Revision Deadlines | Revised manuscripts must be submitted within 30 days of receiving reviewer comments. Extensions may be requested with valid reason. |
| Acceptance & Proof | Upon acceptance, page proofs will be sent to the corresponding author’s registered email. Corrections must be returned within 72 hours. No substantial changes are permitted at proof stage. |
| Publication Frequency | PAHMCJ is published twice a year (January and July). Accepted manuscripts are assigned to the next available issue. |
| Processing Charges | There is currently no submission or publication fee for authors. This policy is subject to change with prior notice. |

Studies involving human subjects must include a statement confirming approval from the relevant Institutional Ethics Committee and that informed consent was obtained. Animal studies must follow institutional and national guidelines.
All manuscripts are screened for plagiarism using appropriate software. Submissions with similarity above 20% (excluding references and quoted text) will be returned without review. Duplicate publication is strictly prohibited.
Authorship must be based on ICMJE criteria: substantial contributions to conception/design, data acquisition/analysis, drafting or critical revision, and final approval. Ghost authorship and gift authorship are not permitted.
All authors must disclose any financial or non-financial conflicts of interest — including grants, consultancies, stock ownership, or patents — in a separate declaration submitted with the manuscript.
Clinical trials must be registered in a publicly accessible registry (e.g., ClinicalTrials.gov) before enrollment of the first participant. The registration number must be included in the manuscript.
Case reports must include a statement confirming that written informed consent was obtained from the patient (or guardian) for publication. Identifying details (names, initials, hospital numbers) must be omitted or anonymized.
